Small Green Roofs authors at Chelsea

by Timber Press on June 21, 2011

in Design

Timber author Nigel Dunnett’s garden design was recently showcased at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. His book, Small Green Roofs, is the first to focus on small-scale and domestic green roofs, and Dunnet’s design offers a beautiful example of the practices featured in his book. His design was also supported by authors John Little and Dusty Gedge, owners of Green Roof Shelters.

The display, entitled The Royal Bank of Canada’s New Wild Garden, was sponsored by The Royal Bank of Canada, designed by Nigel Dunnett and The Landscape Agency, with containers by Green Roof Shelters. There were thousands of visitors this year to the Chelsea Show, and the New Wild Garden was a popular display. Dr. Dunnett even met with Her Royal Highness The Queen! We’ve shared some photos below. This book has gained a lot of fame in quite a short time, which is very impressive. The concept of promoting green roofing on a domestic level is quite thoughtful. Roofing companies should jump into this crusade and start offering green roof services. This way can make a beautiful environment to surround ourselves with.
