Amy Wagenfeld

Amy Wagenfeld, PhD, OTR/L, SCEM, CAPS, FAOTA, brings a unique perspective to her work by blending occupational therapy, horticulture, and design to make gardens and gardening possible for a wide range of adults and children. Amy’s experiences span academic and clinical settings and social entrepreneurial collaborations with landscape architects on design, programming, and evaluation of outdoor environments in healthcare, community, military, and educational settings. An assistant professor of occupational therapy at Western Michigan University, she also maintains a design consultation practice. Amy has published and spoken widely on the role of occupational therapy in equitable access to nature.
