Jo Ann Gardner

For 30 years, Jo Ann Gardner and her husband operated a hand- and horse-powered farm on Cape Breton Island. They now live in the Adirondacks where they have a small farm with extensive gardens. Gardner writes, lectures, and conducts classes on herbs, heirlooms, hardy roses, and biblical flora.

Marie Iannotti

Longtime Master Gardener Marie Iannotti is the former owner of Yore Vegetables, an heirloom seedling nursery. She is the former editor of The Mid-Hudson Gardener's Guide., and her garden writing has been featured in newspapers and magazines nationwide.

Donald J. Leopold

Donald J. Leopold, a long-standing member of the Ecological Society of America, has studied native plants for nearly 30 years. He has taught courses in dendrology, plant materials, freshwater wetland ecology, and numerous graduate seminars on conservation and restoration topics.

Lee Reich

Lee Reich is an avid gardener who speaks frequently at garden symposia and clubs, grower conferences, and Master Gardener workshops. Lee invites us to join him in the garden, savoring the medley of flavors that uncommon fruits offer.

Kathy Guest Shadrack

Kathy Guest Shadrack has gardened passionately in Western New York for over 25 years and has maintained collections of hostas, irises, and daylilies. A former secretary of the American Iris Society, she is currently the secretary of the American Hosta Society.

Michael Shadrack

Michael Shadrack is a photographer with more than six thousand hosta images in his library. He is an active member of the British Hosta and Hemerocallis Society and the American Hosta Society, and has assumed leadership roles in both organizations. Michael regularly lectures on hostas in North America and Europe, and is an avid hybridizer as well.

Ellen Zachos

Ellen Zachos lectures on houseplants for horticultural organizations around the world. As a professional photographer, she illustrates her lectures with high-quality slides. A former Broadway performer Ellen recently released her first CD combining her two passions, plants and music.
