Requesting permission to reproduce text or images from a Timber Press book is a three step process.
-
Before you contact us, please check the acknowledgements section of the book for details on the copyright holder
of the text or images you wish to reproduce. If the material is not held under our copyright, contact the acknowledged
copyright holder directly.
-
If Timber Press holds the copyright, determine the nature of your request. Generally, requests fall withing two
categories: A) photocopying for use in a classroom, course, or professional conference, or B) republication of
excerpts in a different work or medium.
-
If you are seeking permission to photocopy material for use in a US classrom, please direct your request to the
Copyright Clearance Center.
Otherwise, please fill out our online permissions request form (at left). We will evaluate your
request and then fax or mail you a permission agreement that you must sign and fax or mail back to us.
Permission is not granted until a written agreement is signed and received by both parties.
Please bear in mind that it will take time to research your request and contact the appropriate parties. We may
also have additional questions, so be sure to provide accurate contact information.
