CENTS report

Shows, Winter

Last year’s CENTS show was pretty slow due to a giant snow storm that prevented a lot of people from attending. This year there were only a few flurries, and much more traffic at the show!

Willoway Nurseries had a neat booth that included a lookout platform, where you could see out over the top of the whole show. (The picture only shows about a quarter of the show.)

I was counting the books in our booth, and realized that only 5 of them were books that were published before I started working at Timber almost six years ago. Crazy! IMG_1225

During a lull in booth traffic, I wandered around the show and encountered Sharp Top Trees‘ booth, where I learned about a type of American Elm that is resistant to Dutch Elm Disease.

Sawyer Nursery had a beautiful display of plants that made me really look forward to the bright days of spring and summer.

Faron Green Nursery was right next to our booth, and I loved how their display looked like a winter forest.

You can even imagine that the flourescent lights are stars, if you really try.

Did you make it to Jenni’s ice cream?

Yes! I had the pistachio honey ice cream, after trying several samples. It was very good, but I was overly full of dinner, and I should have waited a bit before tackling ice cream.
