Anthony W. Kahtz

Anthony W. Kahtz was born and raised in Illinois and has gardened in the midwestern United States as well as around the world.

He holds a Ph.D. in horticulture from the University of Illinois, and is an alumnus of Southern Illinois University (College of Agriculture). He has worked at the National Cathedral Bishop's Garden in Washington D.C., the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, and the Royal Horticultural Society's Wisley Garden in Surrey, England.

Anthony is a member of the American Public Garden Association (APGA) and the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS), and has lectured at the ASHS and the Southern Nursery Association. He developed and wrote the plant identification study guide for certification of arborists in the state of Illinois for the Illinois Nurserymen's Association.

He has published articles in American Nurseryman, Tennessee Green Times, and Nursery Management Production, as well as a column for the Southern Illinoisan and the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener newsletter.

In his free time, Anthony enjoys traveling, and of course, gardening. He resides in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
